Seeraga Samba Rice Exporter from India
Seeraga Samba is the tiny, aromatic short-grain rice prized across South India for biryani and festive cooking. Vaagai Vriksham Ventures sources it in the Cauvery delta of Tamil Nadu and exports it in bulk and private-label packs, with full export documentation arranged per consignment.

Aromatic Short-Grain Rice
Why South Indian cooks choose Seeraga Samba
Seeraga Samba takes its name from its resemblance to cumin (seeragam in Tamil) — a markedly short, fine grain that sets it apart from long-grain biryani rices. It is the grain South Indian cooks reach for when they want each kernel to stay separate yet carry the aroma and spice of a slow-cooked biryani, kuska or pulao. Its small size and firm texture make it a traditional choice for Chettinad and Tamil-style biryani, as well as ghee rice and festive preparations.
We source Seeraga Samba in the Cauvery delta around Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu, a rice-growing belt fed by the river system. Lots are cleaned, graded and packed to your specification. Both raw (unpolished) and steamed forms are available; the exact grade, polish and grain length are confirmed at quotation so the rice matches the dish profile and price point your market expects.
Packing & private label
Packing is flexible. We supply jute bags and PP/BOPP woven bags for bulk movement, and vacuum or consumer-size packs for retail and HoReCa channels. Private-label and own-brand packing is available for qualifying orders, with artwork and pack sizes confirmed per programme. Bag weights, carton configuration and container loading plans are quoted against your order.
Minimum order & documentation
Orders run from roughly one 20ft container, with LCL and mixed loads consolidated ex-Chennai where you are combining SKUs — confirmed per order. Reefer or cold-chain shipping is arranged per consignment and coordinated with your forwarder. Full export documentation — commercial invoice with HS code (confirmed at quotation), packing list, certificate of origin, phytosanitary certificate, fumigation/ISPM-15 and CoA/lab reports — is available on request, including the origin documentation your destination import clearance requires. Certification programmes can be arranged for qualifying orders on request.
