Onion Exporter from India
Vaagai Vriksham Ventures is an onion exporter from India supplying big onions and small onions (sambar onion / shallots), graded by size and packed in ventilated mesh bags. Malaysia is a key onion market for us alongside Qatar and the wider GCC.

Big & Small Onion SKU
Origin & character
India is one of the world's largest onion-growing nations, and Vaagai Vriksham Ventures draws on this supply base to ship two distinct products. Big onions are the round red and pink-red bulbs used as a daily cooking base across South Asian, GCC and Southeast Asian kitchens — firm, with tight outer skins and a balanced pungency. Small onions, known across South India as sambar onion or shallots, are the petite bulbs prized for sambar, sambals, fried-shallot garnishes and pickles. We select both for sound, well-cured bulbs with good skin retention so they travel and store predictably.
Grades & pack sizes
Big onions are sorted by diameter into common count-size bands so buyers can match the grade to retail loose sales, repacking lines or foodservice volumes. Small onions / shallots are graded by bulb size for cleanliness and uniformity. Size ranges, count bands and tolerances are agreed at quotation and labelled indicative / confirmed per order. Standard mesh-bag formats run from 5kg and 10kg consumer nets up to 20kg and 25kg trade bags, with carton or jumbo-bag options for bulk lanes.
MOQ, packing & shipping
Onions are packed in ventilated mesh / leno bags that allow airflow and limit moisture build-up in transit, a key reason mesh is the export standard for the bulb. Net weight per bag is indicative / confirmed per order. Orders start from approximately one 20ft or 40ft load, and big and small onions can be combined in a mixed container or consolidated ex-Chennai alongside other Farmigo SKUs. Reefer or ventilated dry-container shipping is arranged per consignment and coordinated with your forwarder.
Key markets & export documentation
Malaysia is a major destination for Indian onions, and Vaagai Vriksham Ventures treats it as a priority lane alongside active exports to Qatar and the wider GCC. For Malaysian buyers a preferential certificate of origin (AIFTA Form AI) can reduce import duty, and we provide the origin documentation your Malaysia MAQIS import permit and phytosanitary clearance require. Fresh produce enters Qatar duty-free under the GCC Unified Customs Law, and we supply the origin documentation needed for your Qatar MoPH and WATHEQ requirements. Where a buyer's order qualifies, additional certification programmes can be arranged on request. See our guide to exporting to Malaysia for lane-specific detail.
