Curry Leaves Exporter from India

Vaagai Vriksham Ventures supplies curry leaves (kariveppilai) from Tamil Nadu in two formats: fresh leaves air-freighted under cold chain ex-Chennai, and dried whole leaf or leaf powder by sea. We actively export to Qatar and serve ethnic grocery channels across the Gulf, the UK and South-East Asia.

Origin & character

Curry leaf, known as kariveppilai in Tamil and karuveppilai across South India, is one of the most distinctive aromatics in the regional kitchen — the glossy, dark-green sprigs that crackle in hot oil at the start of a tempering. Vaagai Vriksham Ventures sources from the Tamil Nadu plains, selecting clean, deep-green leaves on intact stems for a strong, fresh aroma. Curry leaves carry a loyal, year-round demand in diaspora homes, which makes them a steady line for ethnic grocery shelves rather than a seasonal novelty.

Fresh leaves — air freight & cold chain

Fresh curry leaves are perishable and lose aroma quickly, so we run them as air consignments ex-Chennai and hold cold chain from packhouse to airport. Leaves are presented as tied bunches for loose retail or as retail clamshells for pre-packed grocery, both inside ventilated cartons that allow airflow in transit. Because shelf life is short, fresh stock is harvested to order against your shipment window rather than held — indicative shelf life, pack counts and handling temperatures are confirmed per order and coordinated with your forwarder.

Dried leaf & leaf powder — sea freight

For buyers who need longer shelf life or steadier sea-freight economics, we also supply dried whole curry leaf and milled leaf powder. Dried product is packed into food-grade lined cartons or bags and ships by sea, making it well suited to spice-blend manufacturers, repackers and distributors who prefer ambient logistics. Mesh / sieve specification for powder and moisture targets are agreed at quotation and labelled indicative / confirmed per order.

Grades, MOQ & packing

We grade fresh leaves on colour, leaf size and stem condition, and grade dried product on leaf wholeness, colour retention and (for powder) fineness. Fresh curry leaves ship as air consignments sized to your demand, while dried whole leaf and powder start from approximately one mixed load consolidated ex-Chennai alongside other Farmigo SKUs. Net weight per pack, carton counts and grade definitions are all indicative / confirmed per order.

Export documentation

Vaagai Vriksham Ventures actively exports to Qatar and serves the Gulf, UK and South-East Asian ethnic grocery trade. Fresh produce enters Qatar duty-free under the GCC Unified Customs Law, and for Malaysian buyers a preferential certificate of origin (AIFTA Form AI) can reduce import duty. We provide the origin documentation your Qatar MoPH Certificate of Conformity and WATHEQ registration require, alongside packing lists, phytosanitary certificates and CoA/lab reports as your destination requires. Where a buyer's order qualifies, certification programmes can be arranged on request. See also our drumstick (moringa) exporter page and the full vegetables range.

FAQ

Good to know

Do you supply fresh curry leaves, dried, or both?
Both. Fresh curry leaves move by air freight under cold chain ex-Chennai in bunch or clamshell packing for ethnic grocery shelves, while dried whole leaf and leaf powder ship by sea in lined cartons or bags. The split is confirmed per order against your channel and shelf-life needs.
How short is the shelf life of fresh curry leaves?
Fresh curry leaves are perishable and best moved quickly, so we harvest to order against your air-freight window and maintain cold chain from packhouse to airport. Indicative shelf life and handling temperatures are confirmed per order and coordinated with your forwarder.
How are curry leaves packed for export?
Fresh leaves are packed in tied bunches or retail clamshells inside ventilated cartons for airflow; dried whole leaf and powder go into food-grade lined cartons or bags. Net weight per pack and carton counts are indicative / confirmed per order.
What is the minimum order and which markets do you serve?
Fresh curry leaves ship as air consignments sized to your demand, while dried product starts from approximately one mixed load consolidated ex-Chennai. We supply ethnic grocery and distribution channels across the Gulf, the UK and South-East Asia, all confirmed per order.
Which export documents do you provide?
Full export documentation is available on request — commercial invoice with HS code, packing list, certificate of origin (including preferential AIFTA Form AI for Malaysia), phytosanitary certificate, fumigation/ISPM-15 where applicable and CoA/lab reports — confirmed per order at quotation.
